The Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM) is the official orchestra of the CMIM, and accompanies all our finalists during the last round of competition.
Since its founding in 1934, the OSM has established itself as a leader in the orchestral life of Québec and Canada and as a cultural ambassador of the highest order. Under Maestro Rafael Payare, music director since 2021, the orchestra continues in this tradition and distinguishes itself with innovative programming connected to its community. The OSM’s excellence has been demonstrated over the course of 40 national and international tours and of more than 100 recordings which have 49 awards.
The OSM inaugurated its new home, the Maison symphonique de Montréal, in September 2011. Since 2012, the CMIM Final has taken on the stage of this magnificent hall place with its exceptional acoustics.
