Valentin Ruckebier is a member of the Ensemble at Deutsche Oper am Rhein, where his roles have included Sagrestano in Tosca, Masetto in Don Giovanni, Zaretskij in Eugene Onegin, and Alessio in La Sonnambula, among others. Recent performances also include Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte for Egyptian National Opera in Cairo, and the role of Jesus in Bach’s St. John Passion in Berlin and Leipzig. Active as a lieder singer, he has performed Schubert’s Die Schöne Müllerin and Winterreise for the Liedforum Köln.
An award-winning composer, Valentin’s opera The Flight to Egypt has been performed at the Teatro Comunale Luciano Pavarotti in Modena, Italy, at the Landestheater Linz, Austria, and at the Serbian National Theater in Novi Sad. Valentin earned a master’s degree at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf.
