VIOLIN 2019 EDITION
Biography 2019: “I can’t conceive of a life without music, “ says María Dueñas.”If I didn’t devote myself to violin performance, I would definitely be a composer or do some kind of musical activity.” Composition is indeed a career she has been exploring: one of her pieces, called Fareweel, even won a prize at the Robert Schumann Von fremden Ländern und Menschen Competition. Passionate about chamber music, María is a member of the Hamamelis String Quartet. Named a “Rising Star” by The Violin Channel, María Dueñas studies with Boris Kushnir at the University of Music and Art of Graz, in Vienna, a city she finds inspiring for its architecture and exciting cultural life. She made the most of her time in Vienna by taking Viennese dancing classes, and has even learned the waltz. She will be giving her debut performance with the San Francisco Symphonic Orchestra under Maestro Marek Janowski’s direction and will be performing at the Musikverein of Vienna.
María Dueñas is generously sponsored by Les productions Denise Robert.
