VIOLIN 2019 EDITION
Biography 2019: Despite her young age, Hyun Jae Lim’s career is in full swing. At 21, she has already played with major orchestras such as the Philadelphia Orchestra, Houston Symphony and the London Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. She has won top prizes, including the Third Prize at the Menuhin competition in 2018. She currently studies at the Curtis Institute with Shmuel Ashkenasi and Arnold Steinhardt. Born in Seoul, Hyun Jae Lim often goes back to her native land to spend time with her family and eat her favourite Korean delicacies. She is currently obsessed with the music of Robert Schumann – “I can’t get enough!” she admits. She admires German violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter, particularly in her recording of the Tchaikovsky Concerto. Hyun Jae’s motto is “Believe in yourself,” which won’t come as a surprise to those following her career.
