Mezzo-soprano
Biography 2018 : Born in Moscow, mezzo-soprano Alexandra Yangel started taking violin lessons at the age of 5 with Galina Turchaninova. In 2011, she graduated with honours in violin at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. At the age of 19, she started taking vocal lessons with Irina Dolzhenko at the Bolshoi Theatre. She entered the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music (Moscow) in 2012, then the Konservatorium Wien Privatuniversität in 2013, where she studied with Elena Filipova and where she is currently completing a Master’s in Lied and Oratorio. Alexandra was a prize winner of the 2016 Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg international competition (Germany). She earned a Novomatic scholarship from the Wiener Staatsoper and is a member of its ensemble.
