Voice 2022 – Aria Division
Contralto
2022: Canadian contralto Rose Naggar-Tremblay honed her craft in Montréal, her hometown. She is a graduate of McGill University and was an artist in residence of the Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal. She recently made her debut at Bulgaria’s Sofia Opera and Ballet, in the title role of Bizet’s Carmen.
During her time at l’Opéra de Montréal, Rose Naggar-Tremblay portrayed Gertrude Stein in Ricky Ian Gordon’s Twenty-Seven, and Zora in Ana Sokolović’s award-winning opera, Svadba.
In 2021 Naggar-Tremblay won first prize in opera at the International Singing Competition Georges Enesco in Paris. At last year’s OSM Competition, Naggar-Tremblay won First Prize as well as the Prize for best interpretation of a Canadian work for Healing, the song cycle she co-composed with Éric Champagne.
