Age: 32
Ricardo Garcia is a member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater Darmstadt where his roles include Andres in Wozzeck, Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore, the Steuermann in Tristan und Isolde, Oronte in Alcina, Alfredo in La traviata, Lenski in Eugene Onegin, and Cassio in Otello. This season, he also performs Tamino in Die Zauberflöte with Florida Grand Opera and joins the New World Symphony as the Father in Weill’s Seven Deadly Sins.
Garcia performed Fabrizio Naccarelli in The Light in the Piazza and Roméo in Roméo et Juliette with Central City Opera, a role he repeated for Boston Lyric Opera. Ricardo Garcia has also performed at Music Academy of the West and with Tulsa Opera, and was a Butler Studio Artist of Houston Grand Opera, a Resident Artist of Portland Opera, an Apprentice Artist at Santa Fe Opera, and a Studio Artist at Wolf Trap Opera. He earned his Master of Music Degree at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
