Age: 27
Nikolai Zemlianskikh’s recent opera roles include his debut at the Dutch National Opera as Nottingham in Roberto Devereux, Eletsky in Pikovaya Dama at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, Albert in Werther at the Festspielhaus in Baden-Baden, and Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro Verdi in Padova, where is also performed in Carmina Burana for the Operaestate Festival.
Previous appearances include Marcello in La bohème at the Bayerische Staatsoper and the title role in Eugene Onegin at the Teatro Massimo di Palermo, as well as roles at Ireland’s Wexford Festival Opera and the Salzburg Festival. As a member of the opera studio of the Bolshoi Theater, he made his house debut in the role of Lamplighter in The Story of Kai and Gerda.
Nikolai earned a master’s degree at the St. Petersburg Conservatory Rimski-Korsakov.
