VIOLIN 2019 EDITION
Biography 2019: Currently studying at the Curtis Institute, Jinyoung Yoon is the student of Aaron Rosand and Midori Goto. After starting her violin studies at the age of 5, she continued her musical education at the Yewon Middle School, a school renowned in South Korea for the excellence of its arts curriculum. She was then admittied in the pre-collegiate program at Juilliard in New York in 2012. She has already performed with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra directed by Myung-Whun Chung. She describes herself as a shy person, believes that nature is the best inspiration and is passionate about history, particularly that of her country. In fact, had she not become a musician, she would have probably studied history. Jinyoung is very attached to her family, and particularly her dad whom she considers her guide. “Each time I am sad or tired, his advice is always very useful.” She performs on a 1822 Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume violin.
Jinyoung Yoon is generously sponsored by Jean Claude Baudinet.
