Itamar Prag began his studies at the Givatayim Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Hannah Shalgi. He attended the Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts before earning his B.M and M.A degrees in piano performance from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music (BMSM) at Tel Aviv University. Prag moved in Montreal in 2021 where he is pursuing a doctorate in piano performance with Prof. Kyoko Hashimoto at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University.
Prag enjoys a vibrant performance career as a recitalist, soloist, and chamber musician. He made his debut at the age of 11 as a soloist with Tel Aviv Soloists Ensemble and has since performed with orchestras in Israel and abroad under the batons of Yoel Levi, Lahav Shani, Alexis Hauser, Frederic Chaslin, Omer Wellber, Vag Papian, and more. In 2019, Prag won an audition held by Maestro Zubin Mehta and performed with the BMSM Orchestra.
Prag has given recitals in Germany, Poland, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Czech Republic, France, Spain, Georgia, USA, UK, and Canada. He has received scholarships from The America-Israel Cultural Foundation, Ronen Foundation, Zefunot Culture, as well as a scholarship in memory of Bassia and Sascha Marmerstei and has performed at festivals including Yellow Barn, Musical Chairs, and Vianden Festival.
