VIOLIN 2019 EDITION
Biography 2019: Daichi Nakamura is born in Japan, but he is lucky now to call Vienna, one of the greatest cultural capitals, home. He has been invited as guest soloist of the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra and the Sofia Symphony Orchestra, among other prestigious engagements. Daichi confesses to having a fascination for Brahms: he recorded three sonatas for violin and piano composed by him and won the first prize at the Johannes Brahms International Competition in 2017. He also competed at the Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians at the Aram Khachaturian International Competition and the Fritz Kreisler International Competition. Amongst legendary violinists, Daichi admires Yehudi Menuhin, most notably for his humanitarian engagement. “I would like to follow in his footsteps and help others, not only as a musician, but as a human being.” Daichi will be performing on a Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume violin made in 1827.
