Semifinalist

Born in Hubei, China, pianist Antonio Chen Guang is a top prize winner in numerous important international competitions including the Scriabin, Rome, Kern, Maria Canals, and Busoni, among others. He has performed across Europe, America, Africa, and Asia in recital and with important orchestras. His collaborators include such artists as Anna Tifu, Enrico Dindo, Jan Willem de Vriend, Christian Arming, Stefan Milenkovich, Ezio Bosso, Yves Abel, Conrad van Alphen, Paul Badura-Skoda, and Pavel Berman.

Antonio started studying the piano at a very young age with his father. He has studied at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing with Zhao Pingguo, then at the Juilliard School in New York with Matti Raekallio, followed by at the Accademia Pianistica Internazionale di Imola, where he was the youngest ever Artist Diploma recipient. He is now continuing his education at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna with Lilya Zilberstein, and with Andrea Bonatta at the Accademia TMMS di Brescia.

Antonio’s first recording, dedicated to Bach, Brahms and Berg, was released by Steinway & Sons in 2020.
