Following her graduation from the Norwegian Academy of Music, Hedvig Haugerud continued her studies at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse in Paris before joining the Royal Danish Opera Academy. She recently won rave reviews for her debut in the title role of Salome at the Opéra-Théâtre de Metz. In 2023, Hedvig performed the roles of Vierte Magd and Die Aufseherin in Strauss Elektra at the Norwegian National Opera and the Danish Royal Opera. Upcoming engagements include a recital of Scandinavian songs at the Bregenzer Festspiele this summer and debuts as Chrysothemis (Elektra) and Salome at the New National Theatre in Tokyo.

Additional performances include Grieg Songs, performed on tour to Spain with the Bergen Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, the role of Fourth Maid in Elektra in concert with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Kirill Petrenko, and The Overseer in Elektra for the Royal Danish Opera, conducted by Thomas Søndergård.
