Magdalena Kuźma recently returned to The Metropolitan Opera to sing Papagena in The Magic Flute. This season, she also makes her role debut as Bubi Kopf in Der Kaiser von Atlantis with the New World Symphony and Louisville Orchestra, performs a recital with the Cincinnati Song Initiative, and appears as soloist in Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 with Santa Rosa Symphony.

A recent Metropolitan Opera Lindemann Young Artist, Magdalena made her mainstage Met debut in the 23-24 season as Giannetta in L’elisir d’amore, followed by Juliette in Roméo et Juliette at The Glimmerglass Festival. Last season at the Met, she sang Sister Catherine in Dead Man Walking, and Yvette in La Rondine, as well as Papagana.

Previous roles include Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro as a Fleming Artist at the Aspen Music Festival.  Pamina at Opera Orlando, Frasquita for Santa Fe Opera, as well as roles for Yale Opera, Music Academy of the West, Oberlin Opera, Chautauqua Opera, and Teatro Petrarca. An avid recitalist, Magdalena performed with LyricFest and made her Wigmore debut with pianist James Baillieu.

Magdalena Kuźma holds multiple degrees in music and social neuroscience from The Juilliard School, Oberlin College & Conservatory, and Yale University, where she received the Dean’s Award and was honoured as valedictorian.
