They come from the fours corners of the World and are some of the most promising young musicians of their generation.\u00a0 Be one of the first to discover these up and coming stars from May 7 to 17.<\/p>\n<p>A special guest of the Competition, legendary violinist and conductor Maxim Vengerov will conduct the Orchestre symphonique de Montr\u00e9al for the final round (May 14 &amp; 15) and the Gala concert (May 17) at the Maison symphonique de Montr\u00e9al.\u00a0 As a violinist, he will also join cellist St\u00e9phane T\u00e9treault, Radio-Canada 2011-2012 Revelation, and pianist Serhiy Salov, First-prize winner of the 2004 edition of the Competition, in a concert benefiting the MIMC held on May 13, also at the Maison symphonique.\u00a0 The Orchestre de chambre I Musici and its principal conductor and artistic director, Jean-Marie Zeitouni, will join the three soloists in this Concert prestige featuring Beethoven\u2019s Triple Concerto and Symphony No. 7.<\/p>\n<p>The 2013 Competition will be widely available for music lovers across Canada and abroad thanks to our official broadcaster, Radio-Canada\u2019s Espace musique.\u00a0 Radio-Canada will dedicate a blog and web-page on espace.mu, and special programs, coverage of the semi-finals, as well as live broadcasts of the final round on Espace musique.\u00a0 The final round will also be heard around the World, through Radio-Canada\u2019s association with the European Broadcast Union (EBU).\u00a0 CBC Radio 2 will also offer coverage of the Competition\u2019s semi-final and final rounds, while Maxim Vengerov will act as guest editor of cbcmusic.ca from May 6 to May 12.<\/p>\n<p>The MIMC is proud to announce a new partnership with the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, where various free activities will be offered to the public, from May 8 to May 12.\u00a0 Among these, an exhibit of contemporary string-instrument making, as well as workshops on violin craftsmanship, as well as a Master class with eminent jury member, violinist R\u00e9gis Pasquier.\u00a0 The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts will also offer a 50% rebate off the regular ticket price for the Peru Kingdoms of the Sun and the Moon exhibit to those who have purchased a ticket for the quarter or semi-final rounds of the Montreal Musical International Competition.
