The laureate received a $5,000 grant. It is worth mentioning that Serhiy Salov was also the winner of the First Prize at the first piano edition of the MIMC, in 2004.<\/p>\n<p>The MIMC wishes to congratulate each of the 6 participants that took part in this new prize, which is seeking to promote classical piano improvisation, a traditional discipline still taught in some higher music education institutions. \u201cThe MIMC stands out among the 115 competitions in the World Federation of International Music Competitions by being the first to offer such an award.<\/p>\n<p>The Richard Lupien Improvisation Prize was broadcast live on medici.tv and will be available internationally for on demand listening for three months.<\/p>\n<p>For complete details, please visit the Competition\u2019s website at\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/link.genclik.ca\/c\/443\/92ea890bcb62acad67ac294db2138f31d5b369cacf4ea2b2b15a67dfec14e33c\">www.concoursmontreal.ca<\/a>.
