Lauded as one of today’s most prominent violinists, Ju-Young Baek<\/strong> enjoys an extensive international career. She has performed in recital at many of the world\u2019s most important venues, including Carnegie Hall, New York\u2019s Lincoln Center, Philadelphia\u2019s Kimmel Center, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and Suntory Hall in Tokyo. She has appeared as soloist with the NHK Symphony, London Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, Budapest Festival Orchestra, China National Orchestra, Finnish Radio Orchestra, Singapore Symphony, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Seoul Philharmonic, and KBS Symphony Orchestra, among others.<\/span>\u00a0

Active as a chamber musician, Ju-Young Baek has performed at the festivals of Marlboro, Ravinia, Aspen, Great Mountains, Naantali, and Bridgehampton, as well as at the Casals Festival in France, Beethoven Festival in Poland, YCA CHANEL Festival Tokyo, and the Seoul International Music Festival. She was also a leader of the International Sejong Soloists.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Baek is a laureate of numerous international competitions, including the Indianapolis, Paganini, Sibelius, Long-Thibaud, and Queen Elisabeth. Her career was launched after winning 1<\/span>st<\/sup> prize at the Young Concert Artists Auditions in New York City.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2007, Ju-Young Baek gave a record-making performance in which she performed all twelve of Bach and Ysa\u00ffe\u2019s solo violin works in one day.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ju-Young Baek\u2019s first album of Brahms and Bruch concerti was released in Japan to critical acclaim and was followed by an album of solo violin repertoire by Bart\u00f3k, Bach, Isang Yun, and Schnittke. Her recording of the Penderecki and Szymanowski violin concerti with the Royal Philharmonic was released in London to rave reviews. In 2020, in celebration of Beethoven\u2019s 250<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> birthday, Ju-Young Baek released a recording of the complete Beethoven Violin Sonatas for Sony Classical, followed by the complete Ysa\u00ffe Sonatas for Solo Violin.<\/span>\u00a0

A Larsen Strings Artist, Ju-Young Baek holds degrees from the Curtis Institute of Music, The Juilliard School, and the Conservatoire National Sup\u00e9rieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. She was appointed as the youngest violin professor in the history of Seoul National University.<\/span><\/p>\n
