Biography 2019: If he weren\u2019t a musician, Leonard Fu would be an astrophysicist. \u201cI<\/span><\/span>n a way<\/span><\/span>, both careers are<\/span><\/span>\u00a0not entirely different, both are stating the big questions in life<\/span><\/span>,\u201d he says. At 22, he already has a few impressive accomplishments on his resume<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>H<\/span><\/span>e has performed with the prestigious\u00a0<\/span>Elbphilhamronie<\/span>\u00a0of\u00a0<\/span>Hambourg<\/span>, and was thoroughly impressed by its daring architecture. He has also performed at the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Mariinsky\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Theater in S<\/span><\/span>aint<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Petersburg<\/span><\/span>\u00a0and was invited by the Deutsche\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Kammerphilharmonie<\/span><\/span>\u00a0in Bremen\u00a0<\/span><\/span>to perform\u00a0<\/span><\/span>under the baton of Alexander Shelley.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>He was recently awarded the First Prize and Audience Prize at<\/span><\/span>\u00a0the\u00a0<\/span>TONALi<\/span>\u00a0Competition in Hamb<\/span><\/span>urg<\/span><\/span>. He currently studies at the New England Conservatory with Donald Weilerstein.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>He is a fan of fellow violinist Isabelle Faust and is particularly enamored with her recording of the Concerto for violin by Schumann.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>I<\/span><\/span>n his time off, he likes to watch horror movies. His motto is: \u201c<\/span><\/span>Treat yourself like your own best friend.<\/span><\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
