Born in Tokyo, Tsukushi began playing the violin at the age of three: \u201cMy mother had learned the violin as her first hobby and wanted me to have the same kind of experience.\u201d She graduated from the Music High School associated with the Faculty of Music of the Tokyo University of the Arts, where she went on to complete her bachelor\u2019s degree. She then began her master\u2019s degree at the Musikhochschule L\u00fcbeck in Germany, studying under Heime M\u00fcller.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2025,\u00a0Tsukushi\u00a0won First Prize at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Conservatory Competition in Germany.\u00a0That same year, she was invited to perform Prokofiev\u2019s Violin Concerto n\u00ba 1<\/em> in D major, op. 19, with the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra at the 80<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Prague Spring International Music Festival.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2024, she won First Prize at the Prague Spring International Music Competition, along with the City of Prague Prize, Czech Radio Prize,\u00a0B\u00e4renreiter\u00a0Prize, and the Viktor\u00a0Kalabis\u00a0and Zuzana R\u016f\u017ei\u010dkov\u00e1 Prize.\u00a0Tsukushi\u00a0received\u00a0the\u00a0Second Prize at the Tokyo Music Competition\u00a0in 2020, as well as\u00a0the\u00a0Second Prize at the Japan Music Competition\u00a0in 2018, along with the Audience Prize and the Kuroyanagi Prize.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As a soloist, she has performed with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, the Hofer Symphoniker (Germany), the Prague Philharmonia (Czech Republic), the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra, the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Geidai Philharmonia Orchestra (Japan). Actively engaged in chamber music, Tsukushi has been a member of the Karajan-Akademie of the <\/span>Berliner\u00a0Philharmoniker<\/span>\u00a0since January 2025.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since January 2026, Tsukushi performs on the 1736 \u201cMuntz\u201d Guarneri del Ges\u00f9, generously on loan from the Sasakawa Music Foundation (formerly Nippon Music Foundation).\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
