HOME - CONCOURS 2026<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAn artist whose technique and musicality are matched by a broader artistic imagination\u201d (<\/span>Gramophone<\/span><\/i>\u00a02025), Charlotte Spruit is a soloist and chamber musician, praised for her passionate and energetic performances.\u00a0She\u00a0<\/span>began her musical journey at the age of four:\u00a0<\/span>\u201cBoth my parents and my older sister are musicians, so I followed their example and started scratching on tiny violins from a very young age.\u201d\u00a0She\u00a0<\/span>studied at the Guildhall School of Music with David Takeno and at the Royal Academy of Music with Ying Xue, Rachel\u00a0Podger, and Pavlo\u00a0Beznosiuk. She is currently studying with Christian Tetzlaff at the Kronberg Academy.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Charlotte won First Prize as well as the Audience Prize and the Genuin Classics Prize at the Leipzig International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition in 2022. She also won the Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT) International Auditions held at Wigmore Hall in 2023 and was named a Classic FM \u201c30 under 30 Rising Stars\u201d in 2024. Most recently, <\/span>Gramophone\u00a0<\/span><\/i>featured her as\u00a0\u201cOne to Watch\u201d.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Charlotte has performed chamber works with acclaimed musicians including Gidon Kremer, Tabea Zimmermann, Lawrence Power, Alina Ibragimova, and Jean-Guihen Queyras. She is regularly invited to play in festivals, including the Chamber Music Connects the World Festival at the Kronberg Academy, and the Mendelssohn on Mull Festival where she performed with the Doric String Quartet. As a soloist, Charlotte has played with numerous orchestras, including the Residentie Orkest The Hague, the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, and the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century. <\/span>The Concours 2026 marks\u00a0her\u00a0Canadian\u00a0debut.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
