HOME - CONCOURS 2026<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Yuki began\u00a0playing the\u00a0violin in\u00a0her hometown,\u00a0Sapporo,\u00a0at\u00a0the age of\u00a0five.\u00a0A music lover\u00a0since youth, she enjoyed watching musicals such as\u00a0<\/span>The Phantom of the Opera<\/span><\/i>\u00a0or\u00a0<\/span>Wicked<\/span><\/i> during her childhood. She first studied the violin under Yukari Fukushima and Tsugio Tokunaga and is currently studying with Pavel Vernikov. She graduated with high honours from the Toho Gakuen Music High School and is now enrolled at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The 2026 edition of the Concours musical international de Montr\u00e9al will\u00a0mark\u00a0Yuki\u2019s debut in North America, and she is thrilled to discover the city of Montr\u00e9al\u00a0and its history.\u00a0\u201c<\/span>I am\u00a0truly grateful\u00a0for the opportunity to\u00a0participate\u00a0in this wonderful competition, and I\u00a0cannot wait\u00a0to meet everyone in Montr\u00e9al!\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2025, she won First Prize at the Jascha Heifetz International Violin Competition in Lithuania, receiving the Grand Prize for the best performance of a Heifetz transcription, along with seven special awards. During the competition, she played the Sibelius Violin Concerto for the first time with an orchestra, a memory she will cherish for a long time to come. She also won First Prize at the Vienna Classic Violin Competition, which led to her performance in the Grand Final in Dubai, where she received several special prizes. In 2024, she was awarded Second Prize at the Ysa\u00ffe International Music Competition.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Yuki received Second Prize in the Music Competition of Japan, the country\u2019s most prestigious national competition, and First Prize in the junior high school division of the\u00a0All\u00a0Japan\u00a0Student Music Competition.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She has appeared as a soloist with orchestras such as the Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra, the Gunma Symphony Orchestra, the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, the Madrid Philharmonic Orchestra, the Transylvania State Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra. She has also collaborated with distinguished artists such as Itamar Golan and Alexander Chaushian.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Yuki\u00a0plays\u00a0on\u00a0a 1764\u00a0Nicol\u00f2\u00a0Gagliano violin, generously loaned to her through the cultural project Tora\u00a0ni\u00a0Tsubasa.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
