Leonard Fu is already a soloist, chamber musician, concertmaster, teacher, and composer who has performed across multiple continents. Among his many collaborators are Kim Kashkashian, Laurence Lesser, J\u00f6rg Widmann, Janine Jansen, and Hsin-Yun Huang.<\/p>\n
Leonard has appeared as a soloist with major orchestras such as the NDR Radiophilharmonie, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the Hamburger Symphoniker, under the batons of Andrew Manze, Alexander Shelley, Elias Grandy, and Marc Niemann.<\/p>\n
His musical interests vary widely from historical performance to premiering works by contemporary composers and cross-genre performances.<\/p>\n
After spending his youth in Germany studying with Lara Lev and Tanja Becker-Bender, he moved to the United States, where he has been studying with Donald Weilerstein and Catherine Cho. He is currently completing an Artist Diploma at the Juilliard School.
Leonard plays on a \u201cLorenzo Storioni, Cremona, 1781\u201d, on loan from the instruments fund of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.<\/p>\n
