Louise Forand-Samson’s name is inextricably linked to musical life in Quebec. Trained as a pianist, and the recipient of many awards and bursaries, she toured Canada and Europe on several occasions.For 26 years, she taught at the Conservatoire de musique de Québec and established master classes in association with the Faculties of Music of Université Laval and Université de Montréal. She was also responsible for the international development of Les Violons du Roy, and was the co artistic director of the Festival international de Lanaudière. Louise Forand-Samson has been a jury member at the Canada Council for the Arts, the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, and the Conseil québécois de la musique. She regularly takes part in conferences held in the United States and in Europe. Finally, she has been the artistic director of the Club musical de Québec for more than thirty years now. Her expertise, intuition, and passion have greatly contributed to the reputation of excellence and the influence of this organization that not only plays host to exceptional singers and instrumentalists but also to great emerging artists.
