Dong-Suk Kang studied at the Juilliard School of Music in New York and at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia with Ivan Galamian. The winner of several international competitions, including the Montréal International Music Competition and the Queen Elisabeth International Competition, he has received several awards for the quality of his recordings, including the Académie Charles Cros’ Grand Prix du Disque and the Grand Prix de la Nouvelle Académie du Disque. Over the course of his brilliant career, he has appeared with, among others, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony, the Orchestre National de France, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philarmonia Orchestra (London), the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (London), under such conductors as Ozawa, Masur, Järvi, Mackerras, Slatkin, Chung, Dutoit, Salonen, and Menuhin. His discography in cludes per formances with Chung, Järvi, and the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields. Dong-Suk Kang is a professor at Yonsei University and Director of the Seoul Spring Festival. He is also artistic co-director of the MusicAlp Festival in Courchevel, France.
