Born in Summit,New Jersey,Dalton Baldwin studied at the Juilliard School of Music in New York and at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio before continuing his musical training with the renowned Nadia Boulanger and Madeleine Lipatti in France.An uncontested expert of the French repertoire, he also soon excelled as an accompanist in Lieder and in repertory of Russian, Spanish and American composers, collaborating with many of the most illustrious singers of our day, among them Gérard Souzay,Elly Ameling,Frederica von Stade, Jessye Norman,Teresa Berganza, Felicity Lott,Mady Mesplé, Arleen Auger, José van Dam, Gabriel Bacquier, Nicolaï Gedda and Michel Sénéchal. With these artists he recorded the complete songs of Fauré,Debussy,Poulenc, Duparc and Ravel, earning wide international acclaim. A remarkable musician and dedicated teacher, Dalton Baldwin continues to perform today and to share his expertise through master classes across the United States, Europe and Asia, especially in Japan, where he enjoys exceptional renown. Dalton Baldwin was named a Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Government.
