Born in 1963, Italian pianist Benedetto Lupo has already achieved a brilliant international career. He studied music with Michele Marvulli and Pierluigi Camicia at the Bari Conservatory, under the direction of Nino Rota. He then pursued his training as a pupil of Maria Teresa Somma, Sergio Perticaroli and Aldo Ciccolini and played in master classes for Carlo Zecchi, Nikita Magalo and Murray Perahia.
Benedetto Lupo made his debut in Italy at the age of 13 in Beethoven’s First Concerto, after which he won numerous prizes in major international competitions including the Alfred Cortot Competition, Ciudad de Jaén Competition, Cleveland Competition, Gina Bachauer Competition and Van Cliburn Competition. Since then, he has played with some of the most prestigious institutions in Italy and abroad. He has given concerts at London’s Wigmore Hall, the Salle Pleyel in Paris, the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels and the Lincoln Center in New York, as well as at numerous other prestigious venues in Europe and the United States.
