An active performer on both the Canadian and European music scenes and recognized for her extensive repertoire and her keen interest in the romantic and impressionist genres, violinist Anne Robert performs regularly as a recitalist and chamber player. Her performing career has taken her to France, England, Norway, Switzerland, Belgium and the United States. She is very involved in the Montréal music scene and played first violin with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal for 12 years, with which she played also as soloist. Anne Robert has made over a dozen recordings.
Anne Robert studied with Taras Gabora at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec à Montréal. She continued her studies with Manoug Parikian at London’s Royal Academy of Music, where she received its highest distinction, the Recital Diploma. She then attended the University of Indiana, where she studied with the legendary Josef Gingold. She has received many grants from both the Quebec and Canadian governments. Anne Robert teaches at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec à Montréal and the Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Music. In addition, she is regularly invited to serve as a jury member for music competitions, including the Prix d’Europe presented by the Académie de musique du Québec and the Tibor Varga International Violin Competition.
