Janelle Fung made her professional debut at the age of 14 with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Since then, she has appeared with the Seattle Symphony, the Orchestre de Lyon, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and the Portland Symphony Orchestra. She has concertized extensively throughout the United States and Canada, and has participated in concert tours in France, Italy, South Korea, and Japan. Ms. Fung holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music and a Master of Music degree from the Juilliard School. She received her doctorate from the Université de Montréal. Ms. Fung and friend Philip Chiu form the Fung-Chiu Duo. The duo was founded under the auspices of Jeunesses Musicales Canada in 2007.
