Accompanied by the OSM under guest conductor Giancarlo Guerrero, the three main prizewinners performed to an enthusiastic audience. Third Prize winner Minami Yoshida played the First Movement of Sibelius’ Concerto in D minor, opus 47, followed by Second Prize winner Bomsori Kim, performing the third and fourth movements of Shostakovitch’s Concerto No. 1 opus 99. First Prize winner Ayana Tsuji closed the concert in a complete performance of Sibelius’ Concerto in D minor, opus 47. Marc Bouchkov, CMIM 2013 First Prize winner, offered a poignant performance of the theme from Schindler’s List by composer John Williams.
