Shihan Wang began playing the violin at the age of four. He studies currently with Prof. Hong Wang at the Central Conservatory of Music. A laureate of multiple international competitions, Shihan won his first competition with the 2nd Prize and Best Baroque Performance Award at the 16th Kloster Schoental International Competition for Violin in Germany at age 10. In the following three years, he earned major prizes at international competitions, including First prizes at the London Bridge Music Academy Competition, the Louis Spohr International Violin Competition for Young Violinists in Germany, and the Zhuhai Mozart International Violin Competition and the third prize at the Piccolo Violino Magico International Competition. Shihan received an honorary scholarship from the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China. He is the youngest violinist to receive this national honor.
