Matthieu Arama began playing the violin at the age of six. In 1996 he entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, studying with Sylvie Gazeau. In 1998 he received his diploma with distinction, and the same year began playing in the orchestra of the Paris Opera. In September 2000 Matthieu Arama entered Igor Oistrakh’s class at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels. He was a finalist in the Andrea Postacchini International Competition in Italy, and has given many concerts in Belgium and France.
