Joseph Kaiser is currently studying in New York and Italy, and has been a regular performer with the McGill Opera throughout his years of study. In the 2001 – 2002 season, he made his first appearance at the New York City Opera in the roles of Moralès in Bizet’s Carmen, as well as in the dual role of Lefty McCarty / Jerry Smith in John Philip Sousa’s The Glass Blowers. Interning with the Canadian Opera Company, he sang the title role in a production of Britten’s Billy Budd. Joseph Kaiser performed at the Opera Festival of New Jersey and interned at Glimmerglass Opera in New York in 1999 and 2000. He has received scholarships from many institutions in North America and abroad, including the George London Foundation for Singers.
