Second Prize
At the age of twelve Alexis Cárdenas appeared as soloist with the Maracaibo Symphony Orchestra in his home town. He was a prize winner at the Tibor Varga International Violin Competition, took first prize at the Douai International Competition for young violinists, and fourth prize at the Marguerite Long Jacques Thibaud International Competition in 1999. He completed his third level of studies with Olivier Charlier and Jean-Jacques Kantorow. Alexis Cárdenas plays regularly as soloist with the world’s most prestigious orchestras and pursues a career as a chamber musician.
