VIOLIN 2019 EDITION
Biography 2019: “Get up and work!” is Lun Li’s motto and he has been taking it seriously for a few years, judging by the musical projects he has been working on. Lun is a student of Ida Kavafian at the Curtis Institute. He is a member of a quartet, and concertmaster of the Pacific Music Festival Orchestra since 2017. He has also participated in Taos School of Music, Music From Angelfire, Four seasons Chamber Music Workshop and the Music@Menlo international program. He does admit that, as a violinist, he feels there is too much pressure to have a perfect technique and he fears losing focus on the music. He describes himself as a calm and peaceful person, who loves to discuss about environmental issues. He can be found reading the popular manga Chibi Maruko Chan, which he considers “a great lesson in philosophy”. He will be performing on a Balestrieri violin made in 1760.
Lun Li is generously sponsored by Louise Roy.
