Official Orchestra

Rooted in Montréal, open to the world, and committed to excellence, the Concours and the OSM share a common goal: to offer exceptional artists of the new generation a prestigious international platform, enabling them to launch their careers and shine on the world stage.

After advancing through the various rounds of the Concours, the six finalists of Piano 2027 appear on stage of the Maison symphonique, the culmination of their journey, to perform a major piano concerto with the OSM.

For these young pianists at the start of an international career, performing with an orchestra of this calibre is a defining experience. Supported by the musicians of the OSM, they are able to showcase the full richness of their artistry.

Maison symphonique de Montréal

Founded in 1934 by Antonia Nantel, Wilfrid Pelletier and Athanase David, the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal holds a leading place in the musical life of Québec and Canada. An internationally renowned cultural ambassador, it welcomes the world’s foremost conductors and soloists to the Maison symphonique.

Under the leadership of Rafael Payare, the OSM continues a tradition of excellence shaped by bold projects, community engagement, international tours and outstanding recordings. Each season, it presents more than 100 concerts at the Maison symphonique and other venues, bringing the symphonic repertoire to life in many forms.

The OSM has performed throughout Canada, the United States and Latin America, as well as in numerous countries across Europe and Asia. Its discography includes more than 100 recordings, which have earned over 110 national and international awards.
